a year+ in the life of my evolving, offbeat aesthetic as i navigate being
a mid-30s-femme-grown-up-emo-punk-single-mom-graduate-student-non-profit-employee-fashionista.

I am a child of the ‘90s and will forever stand by a flannel tied around the waist for a multitude of reasons.

Today, it was in efforts of making it look like I tried harder than I did to look human for therapy. Which is why I’m also not wearing any makeup. I’m a Pisces so guaranteed I’m going to cry in therapy, even if I’m just talking about shoes. Or texting my therapist memes to illustrate a point.

My therapist is exactly the kind of therapist I’d hope to be some day, if I choose that route in furthering my education. They are also a Pisces, so that helps show it can be done, at least to me.

So, t-shirt dress that’s honestly pjs that are outside acceptable, flannel for fashion and fluctuating temperatures, Chucks because why not, sunglasses to hide puffy allergy/therapy eyes, topknot to control clean but only half-dry hair, and cold cup for all the water my dehydrated ass needs to drink but mostly doesn’t.

Grey t-shirt dress (in tall!), black and white buffalo check flannel, & silver star cut out necklace: Old Navy
