Herein lies the last, official, Casual Hipster Monday.

Please feel free to step away to light a candle at your altars of choice.

My workplace — a non-profit theatre and entertainment group — had Casual Mondays because the theatres are dark (read: closed) on Mondays, as is customary in the industry. The offices remained open for the business day, but since our Fridays are often show days, we took Mondays as the low-key day.

For my department, that is no more.

Because we, too, will be closed on Mondays once the performance season kicks up again next month. Which … sucks, to be honest. For me personally, as those are hours I can’t work now, despite having availability to do so. But on the other hand, it’s nice to know barring another change, I’ll have Mondays off to catch up on things like homework and errands and life stuff.

So I saved this outfit, which I very much liked, for this, the last Casual Hipster Monday. I even left my giant readers on (because I need bifocals but … single mom budget and a cat with a facial nerve issue at the beginning of the school years and really I only have contacts again because I may or may not be wearing ones that are not exactly my prescription and not exactly my eye curvature whatever BUT they were free from a friend and we all make do, we all make do.

Also, vanity. I’m not even going to lie about it. Vanity. Ask me how I feel about my angry elevens lately while you’re at it.

It’s been oddly … not humid … for August in Ohio (global warming y’all) so I dug my trusty booties out from under my bed and I’m still in love with them a year after purchasing them. In case you were wondering.

So herein lies the final official installment of Casual Hipster Mondays, an inside joke turned hashtag five and half years running. You’ve done good, little phrase. Rest well now.

At least until I see fit to resurrect you, as I am wont to do.
