Merry and bright Solstice and Yule, friends!

Despite not really feeling much like winter on this, the shortest day of the year (and the stupid rain ruining my bonfire ritual plans), it is indeed a happy day to release into the long night that which you wish to leave behind in this year and to embrace the growing light to come. There’s also a full moon this weekend and a meteor shower, along with the beginning of Capricorn season, so there’s a lot going on up in the sky besides the effects of global warming this holiday weekend.

Just a fun trivia note: the very first Daily Spanx post I ever wrote on my old blog was a holiday outfit that featured this skirt. I wasn’t sure about it then, but not unsure enough to find it a new home, so it found a hiding place in the back of my closet and due to being behind on laundry from the plague, I stumbled across it getting ready for work and giggled to myself because pleated skirts are everywhere right now, and here’s me with a skirt old enough to be in all-day preschool that’s magically “on trend.”

Goes to show how knowing your own style is always a good investment instead of just buying what everyone else is to fit in or whatever. Things will always eventually catch up to you.

Just like the sun.
