a year+ in the life of my evolving, offbeat aesthetic as i navigate being
a mid-30s-femme-grown-up-emo-punk-single-mom-graduate-student-non-profit-employee-fashionista.

It’s going to be another two-for here today.

Last week, while battling the tail end of Round One of illness and the impending onset of Round Two, I had to do adult things like go to work (though that only ended up being a day and a half out of five I was scheduled, so maybe the adult thing was staying home?). Luckily (for me) I wasn’t scheduled to be public facing nearly all week, so I was able to opt for comfort while slapping on a red lip to make it look like I tried minimally more than I actually did.

And then, kind of per usual, me and my boss and my former-boss-tuned-coworker all pretty much matched because if there’s anything theatre people do, it’s believe in a solid, flexible black outfit. Besides, who doesn’t love being able to wear a sweatshirt to work when you feel like poop from lack of sleep and germs but not actually LOOK like you’re wearing a sweatshirt?

It’s the little joys that get me through absolute shit weeks, guys.

Keep a heads up for another post later today to catch up from the plague last week and we’ll be back on track tomorrow. Plus I should have a couple galleries and projects ready to go live soon for your trouble, so keep your eyes peeled on the photography page and the academics page over the next few days.
