Honestly, somehow in shifting everything around to make a couple of Halloween posts make sense, I ended up missing a Sunday … so now you get the pleasure of First Thing In The Morning Me.
See, I am not a morning person. I am definitely more one of those people who thrive more on a 10 AM - 2AM circadian rhythm unless I am FORCING myself to do morning things, like when I was training for a half marathon. Which was really an exercise in testing my own limits and capabilities and inner fortitude before I faced making some big hard life choices.
But, being a parent, the world could give fuck all about my personal preferences of waking hours, so every weekday morning my zombified ass is up before literal dawn doing the mom thing … including bus stop duty.
And here is what the poor bus driver has to deal with. I hope I’m not embarrassing myself too much, but also it’s EARLY and these days COLD and listen, I’m not waking up extra early for five minutes of interaction at the bus stop to go back home before work or class. Sorry, not sorry. This is also the human I become at the end of my days, once the evening’s chores are done and the house is quiet and I get a couple of hours to myself. It is what it is, and it is mega comfy.
This also illustrates a point I think has been missing from these photos so far — despite how it may seem, purple truly is my favorite color, and a LOT of my long-time articles of clothing are purple, like this fleece which is old enough to drive a car, if I’m being honest. The pants were a clearance rack find at Target and may or may not be a kids’ XL from when I was at my sickest and therefore thinnest last year and my adult XS was falling off of me … but they’re sweatpants I wear around the house so judge your mom.
At least I match before I’ve had my first coffee of the day.
